In the first three photos, this apartment elevator shaft needed ventilation added per building dept. instructions. We sawed a hole through the stucco using a cement blade in a skill saw. Then I custom fabricated a vent, and installed and caulked it in place.
One these next three photos of a residential vent installation, the fan and housing are built from scratch. The white exhaust louver and two cedar louvers were purchased already made. A hole has been cut in back of house and the fan has been mounted and wired into a thermostat. It comes on when attic air reaches 90 degrees F. (the fan runs even on surprisingly cool days). Adding a couple of nice louvered cedar vents to the front (cool) side of the house completes the attic ventilation enhancement.
